 Post Tattoo Removal Care

For the first three days, cover the area with a layer of antibiotic ointment. You can remove the bandage after three days, but keep the area as clean and dry as possible. Hydrocortisone cream or Aquaphor can also be used to moisturize the area and reduce itching as it heals.

Wear sunblock of SPF 30+ any time you go outside. Sun exposure is not good for the skin after a tattoo removal treatment.

Once the bandage is off, you can shower, wash the area with mild soap, and pat dry. Avoid swimming, baths, and hot tubs until the area is completely healed.

Do not pick scabs, pop blisters, or shave the area until it has healed.

Common Side Effects of Tattoo Removal

Do not be alarmed if you see any of the following common side effects:

  • Blistering. Blisters may form after 8 hours. With good aftercare they are generally gone 4-6 days after removal service.

  • Scabbing. Part of the body’s healing process after tattoo removal.

  • Mild inflammation. Mild swelling may occur at the site, but it should go away within a few days.

If you experience severe pain or any alarming symptoms, please reach out to us.

Healing Time

The total healing time after laser treatment is between 4-8 weeks. Using appropriate aftercare, the type of treatment, and your immune system factor into how long your healing time will be.
